Former Scotland rugby union player Gavin Hastings showed his support for Pedal for Parkinson’s - Stirling on Sunday, August 7.

The event saw an impressive 285 people sign up to cycle 23, 34 or 51-miles to raise vital funds for Parkinson’s UK.

Gavin has previously fundraised for the charity himself, as his wife Diane has been living with the condition since 2003.

Julia Selby, cycling project manager at Parkinson’s UK, said: “It was fantastic to have Gavin’s support at the event on Sunday. Despite high winds, we had a great day in Stirling.

“We have four Pedal for Parkinson’s events across the UK and Stirling has given us a record-breaking number of sign-ups this year. I’d like to say a big thank you and congratulations to everyone who made the event such a success.

“The funds raised will make a real difference to the lives of people affected by Parkinson’s across the UK.”

Between them, the team of cyclists are on track to raise between £35,000 and £40,000.
